Ogle-Lee RTA : a local unit of Illinois Retired Teachers Association
Introducing the Restructured Ogle-Lee RTA :
This newsletter is the first of many changes being implemented by the Ogle-Lee RTA to improve services to members. At the January 21, 2020 Ogle-Lee RTA Board Meeting, several changes were discussed to make our local more relevant based on the membership survey and member comments. Our purpose, as stated in the Constitution, is to promote and improve the professional, social, and economic status of retired educators. Our 2020 goals include: improving our communication with members by restructuring the website and newsletters, improving timely communication by keeping the website updated and sending out newsletters and e-mail notifications as needed, having two informational luncheon meetings with time for socializing, streamline processes whenever possible, and utilize the members willing to perform duties as needed for vacant positions. In the coming months, the Board will completely restructure the Ogle-Lee RTA website and host two membership luncheon meetings with emphasis on presenting information pertinent to retired teachers.

Message from our New Ogle-Lee RTA President:
Welcome to a new Ogle Lee Retired Teachers Association year. At the executive board meeting in January, I was appointed as your new local unit president. I am a retired teacher from the Rochelle Elementary School District, and a lifetime member of RTA. I have been the legislative representative on the Ogle Lee RTA board for the past two years. I live in Chana, IL with my husband, Neal, a retired math instructor at Kishwaukee College. Our son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren live in Iowa.
The Illinois Retired Teachers Association works hard to protect our pension and insurance benefits. Please remember to visit the Illinois Retired Teachers Association website at irtaonline.org where, after logging in, you can access information on the general assembly, teachers retirement system, social security, and see the many benefits of your membership to the association from dental/vision insurance to discounted movie tickets. The new year has begun. I look forward to seeing you at our general meetings on May 13th and September 9th and/or at an executive board meeting on April 14th, August 11th and October 13th. In the meantime, check your emails for updates and feel free to contact me with any question/concerns.
